The orginal project name was "Viking" and was supposed to have been made with 6 Exhaust Pipes (Oars) compared to the 4 Pipes it was eventually made with. To be released with a Roman Helmet Rider.
Almost all parts were manufactured in the USA and shipped to Mexico for assembly before being sent back to the USA for distribution. Only the Riders(Hong Kong) and Motors(Japan) were made elsewhere.
Mattel created February-72 to April-72
Fire Orange with Yellow molded engine
The Chrome over Yellow engines have been found so far in Fire Orange & Nutmeg Brown cars.
